Purdue FarmHouse's Passion for Philanthropy

Through a variety of philanthropic and social activities, FarmHouse Fraternity Purdue Chapter inspires its members to adopt important values such as leadership, empathy and ambition, and to always strive for excellence.

We aim to be active in each philanthropy on campus, whether our members participate or we donate money to the chapter hosting the philanthropy. Since Morality is one of our pillars, we strive to contribute to philanthropies on campus in order to benefit those in need.

Bellow are links to the websites of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Be The Match. At the sites, you can learn more about how you can make a difference in someone's life.

Philanthropy: About Us

Our Inspiration

Why we support Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

John Romine was a freshman at Purdue and a new member of our brotherhood when he found out he had Hodgkin's lymphoma. For three years after his diagnosis, John was treated at Riley Hospital for Children. Through his treatment, we stood by him and helped him along the way. After his passing, we continue to honor him by shaving our heads at Purdue University Dance Marathon (PUDM) as well as helping register people for Be The Match. Today, PUDM and FarmHouse continue to honor John and his time at Purdue for being an incredible role model and inspiration to everyone.

Several FarmHouse members rechartered the Be The Match organization on campus. Over the years it became inactive and we wanted to change that. For three years now, FarmHouse members and other students have continued to grow the registry so people like John could have the chance to find a match. During the 2019 PUDM, Be The Match gained almost 600 new members to the registry!

Philanthropy Events

Each year we hold philanthropy events that raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). We host smaller events semesterly but our biggest annual event is Greek Goddess. Greek Goddess is a talent competition in which sororities and female cooperatives will compete in various acts such as singing or performing a skit. It is a fun competition that also brings attention to why we support LLS. At the event, John Romine's parents, Mark and Carol, will share their memories of John and the importance of preserving his legacy and joining the Be The Match registry.
